There are a lot of day tours of Ha Long Bay but they are limited in how much of the region they can see in 8 hours round trip. When I went, I opted for a 3 day tour, where the Junk took us far into the bay, beyond where the day tours were able to reach. It was heavily foggy and for most of the 3 days, we didn’t see any other boats and the fog created a mystical environment, one I will never forget!
